Lava beads are black in their natural state, any lava beads that are not black are dyed. 
Dyed lava beads will possibly tarnish over time and turn grey/black and here are some reasons why:
The essential oils used on them can affect the colour.
Perfumes, body sprays, body lotions, soaps, shower gels etc can all affect the colour of the lava beads. So we advise you to not use these products near to your bracelet.
We also advise you remove your bracelet when washing up, showering, bathing or sleeping. 
 
You can gently clean the lava beads, by using a gentle soap, a small toothbrush or cloth and wipe the lava beads. NB some discolouration may not reduce. 
Gently move the spacers away from the lava beads when you do this and dry fully. 
 
The lava beads will continue to absorb any essential oil over time and any discolouration does not affect the use, this is not a fault, it is part of the process of using essential oils with a lava bead.
